Catch-up-Gram 5/5 -5/13

I'm a big believer in the whole birthday month. Here's part 1:
Wearing mom's hand-me-down raincoat
Pre-birthday dinner at my favorite Atlanta spot, Book House Pub. It's Twin Peaks themed, and there's also a nice collection of Dr. Who knick-knacks behind the bar!
Spiritualized was great.
So was this bathroom graffiti at the venue.
Demis Roussos puts my single buffalo tooth pendant to shame.
Handsome coffee, Handsome Coley.
Our friend Daniel sent us cassettes of his latest Whale Heart Records project, Common Future.
Stare deeply into the Tupperware.
Roommate tells me this is sorrel, and not clover. I've still felt lucky this month!
Kurt Wood's record sales are a big to-do around Athens. Grabbed this from the dollar bin.

Eternal Summers - "Millions"

Anyone have an old TV and a sledgehammer I can borrow?
Eternal Summers' forthcoming record Correct Behavior is out July 24 on Kanine.

Um... Missing Something?

Coachella posted their lost and found images. I'm kind of amazed at how organized they are, for the high volume of junk found on the festival grounds. Bless the intern who photographed and cataloged it all...

I would bet money that 1 & 2 are just fashion frames.

Catch-up-Gram 4/27-5/4

My old room at my parents' is full of great finds:
And so is my dad's den:
Look who was at the doctor's office!
Glad to see the Bear in Heaven dudes enjoying the pickled carrots I made for tour fuel:
Fun mason jar decor at Sun In My Belly, ATL.

Catch-up-Gram 4/11-4/27

Backlogged on life posts. Time to catch up this week!

Record Store Day was good to me:
This is the Coley equivalent of when I say I have "nothing to wear."
Welcome to Athens: where we have night jobs so we can afford to stay at the day jobs we like (and Lotta from Stockholm clogs.)
Coming home from work to a personal panna cotta from your chef roomie trumps all things.
Maba Grill

April was amazing in the Canopy show:
Bear in Heaven buds in Atlanta.

Band to Watch: Jenny Besetzt

Jenny Besetzt, the five piece hailing from nearby Greensboro, NC, has become a fast favorite in the Triangle show circuit. Seemingly, they dropped in like a feather in the wind in late 2011; and now, their shows are unmissable.  Between the neo-romantic, dreamy lyrics, highly calibrated stage performance, and bass lines reminiscent of cult classics New Order, the band has already begun to to see the type of success that all Raleigh bands covet: a consistent fan base, in addition to a spot on the prestigious Hopscotch line up.

As of now, they only have a few tracks available for your listening pleasure, with plans for a debut full length to be released in the early autumn of 2012. However, local DIY label, DiggUp Tapes, has released the single "Teenage Lions", which you can stream here.

Be sure to follow them closely beginning now; you're sure to be seeing a whole lot more for them in the near future.
